Do you sometimes feel distant from the social world, even when people are around? The Social Connectedness (SCS-R) Workbook gives you a quiet way to reflect on how connected or distant you generally feel. Answer the 20 statements, follow the reverse-scoring steps, and read what your total and item mean can show. The guide explains that this is about reported feelings of belonging, not counting contacts or practical help, and that the 3.5 midpoint is arithmetic rather than a diagnosis or cutoff.
The 34-page pack includes a 3-page Start Here, 14-page Worksheets file, 4-page Trackers file, 2-page Quick Reference, 4-page Guide, 5-page Professional Guide, one-page cover, and one-page Credits and References. The worksheets hold the questionnaire and scoring ledger, then move into a connection wheel, thought check, map, small-steps ladder, planner, conversation plan, reach-out log, places-to-belong page, and hard-day reflection. Quick Reference keeps scoring and pocket cards close; the trackers capture weekly patterns and score history. All files are PDFs in both A4 and US Letter, with repeat pages to print again.
Begin with your first score, then use the six-week path to notice patterns and choose one manageable action at a time. Reuse the logs and trackers as often as useful, and re-score around week six to compare with your starting point. You finish with your own written record of responses, reflections, attempts, and changes in reported belonging, ready to review privately or bring to a conversation with a qualified professional.
What you get

- Plan a manageable action with the small-steps ladder, one-step planner, and conversation plan.
- Track reach-outs and weekly patterns, then compare scores on the repeatable history chart.

Personal use; professionals may reuse pages with their own clients, while group or institutional licensing is separate.
Questions people ask
Is the Social Connectedness Scale-Revised free, and what am I paying for?
The pack reproduces the instrument items, response options, scoring, and interpretation bands for educational use. The purchase is for the organized printable workbook pages, scoring support, reflection exercises, trackers, guides, and cards. The Credits page states personal use; professional client use is allowed, while group or institutional licensing is separate.
How do I score the SCS-R workbook?
Rate each of 20 statements from 1 to 6. Reverse items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 15, and 18 using 7 minus your response, add the scored values for a total from 20 to 120, then divide by 20 for an item mean from 1 to 6. The midpoint is not a cutoff.
Can I print the SCS-R workbook on A4 or US Letter paper?
Yes. The included PDFs are prepared in both A4 and US Letter, and the page counts match in each size: 34 pages total. Print the full files or just the repeatable answer sheets, reach-out log, and trackers when you want fresh copies.
