Who it is for

  • Adults reflecting on current and childhood experiences
  • Adults preparing notes for an assessment conversation
  • Professionals supporting adult self-reflection with clients

Wondering how your experiences now compare with what you remember from childhood? The RAADS-R Autism Reflection Workbook offers adults a paced way to answer the 80 statements, work out a total and four domain scores, and put observations into their own words. Its pages are for education and self-reflection; a questionnaire score cannot settle a question about autism.

The 32-page pack contains eight separate PDFs in both A4 and US Letter. Start Here sets out a six-week path. Worksheets include the measure, scoring instructions, a fictional worked example, and reflection pages for sensory experiences, social situations, interests, language, masking, and next steps. Trackers include a score history, weekly log, and six-week path. Quick Reference has a scoring cheat sheet, fridge card, and appointment card; the three-page Guide explains the four domains and limits of the score. A two-page Clinician Guide and one-page Credits and References complete the pack.

Use the pages in short sittings: begin with items 1 to 14, finish the statements at your pace, then check your scoring and reflect over the following weeks. The weekly log and repeatable pages help you record patterns over time. You will have written observations, a score sheet, and an appointment card to organize questions and notes if you choose to speak with a professional.

What you get

  • Answer all 80 statements and record separate responses for current and childhood experiences.
  • Check your total and four domain scores with the scoring sheet and fictional worked example.
  • Map sensory experiences, social situations, interests, language, masking, and next steps on reflection pages.
  • Track observations over time with the weekly log, score history, and six-week path.
  • Prepare notes and questions for a professional using the cut-out appointment card.

What it is not

This workbook is for educational self-reflection, not diagnosis or treatment, and does not replace professional care. The RAADS-R was developed by Riva Ariella Ritvo and colleagues; personal use is the default, and professionals may print and reuse the pages with their own clients.

Questions people ask

How is the RAADS-R scored in this workbook?

Each statement uses four response options scored from 0 to 3, with 17 items scored in reverse. The total ranges from 0 to 240 across four domains. The guide describes 65 as a research cut-off from the original validation study, not a diagnostic line; later studies have questioned its fit across populations.

Can I print the RAADS-R workbook on A4 or US Letter paper?

Yes. The pack includes separate PDF files in both A4 and US Letter, with matching page counts. There are eight files and 32 pages in each paper size, so you can print the sections you want to use and make copies of pages marked for reuse.

Who should not rely on the RAADS-R score alone?

Anyone considering whether they may be autistic should treat the score as a reflection prompt, not a diagnosis or a way to rule autism out. The workbook is for adults, and its guide says a qualified professional considers more than one source of information, including developmental history.
